  1. ASTROL8 gave users the ability to save charts to file.  A large
  2. number of charts will fit on a diskette because each chart record
  3. is only 256 bytes.  You can fit about 685 charts in a space of
  4. 200K (this calculation includes the space necessary to create and
  5. recreate the pointer file).  The program limits unregistered
  6. users to a maximum of 150 saved charts.

  8. ASTROL9 gives registered users the ability to delete selected
  9. charts from the chart database.  This option is in the File
  10. Utilities menu.

  12. The File Utilities menu gives all users the option to sort the
  13. index of saved chart names into alphabetical order.  To do this
  14. the DOS external command file SORT.EXE must be in the same direc-
  15. tory as the program or the PATH command must have been used to
  16. set up a path to the directory that contains SORT.EXE.

  18. The File Utilities menu provides an option to print a hardcopy of
  19. the birth data and record numbers of all the individuals on file.
  20. This can be handy to have if you are recreating your chart file
  21. or if you want to find an individual's record number without
  22. paging through a lot of chart names to get it.

  25. Users who want to review their saved charts will first see the
  26. prompt:  `Review names on file?  Y/N'.  Answering `N' or hitting
  27. return will prompt for the first and last names of the chart that
  28. you wish to display.  Answering `Y' will display the names and
  29. record numbers of the first twenty charts in the chart index
  30. file.  If there are more than twenty saved charts, entering `M'
  31. for More will page to the next twenty chart names.  If you
  32. already know the record number of the chart that you want to see,
  33. perhaps because you printed out the birth data hardcopy, you can
  34. simply enter it without paging through the chart names.  Entering
  35. `X' will return you to the Main Menu.

  37. Just as with calculated charts, the chart aspects and midpoints
  38. can be displayed for saved charts.

  40. The graphic chartwheel display for saved charts is superior to
  41. that for calculated charts because the person's name appears in
  42. the center of the wheel.
